Waisor, West Papua (Antaranews) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) plans to explore the Trans Papua and West Papua road segment from the districts of Sorong, Manokwari, Teluk Wondama, and to Nabire in the provinces of West Papua and Papua.
West Papua Governor Dominggus Mandacan remarked here on Friday that the president will tour trans Papua and West Papua road not by car but by using motorcycle.
Dominggus said President Jokowi told him so during a visit to Sorong City recently. At that time the President asked about the readiness of infrastructure in West Papua, especially the Trans Papua road.
"I told the president at that time that after the Idul Fitri holiday we will hold a roadshow with cars to pass through West Papua from Sorong, Manokwari, Wondama then to Nabire, the head of state said to use motorcycles," the governor said.
He added that he had also directly convey the message of the President to the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing which at that time accompanied the president to Sorong.
Dominggus noted that the Public Works and Public Housing Ministers asuki Hadimuljono has ordered the Head of Road Development Center to organize the road that will be passed by the head of state.(*)
